Gravure printing, as well referred to as Intaglio, is the one process which offers the designer the chance of achieving a complete, incessant color deposit ranging from 100 percent full tone down to approximately a 5 percent tone. Gravure is the costliest developed process since the cylinder used requires copper plating and a particular photochemical drawing or etching process.
Printing is talented via tiny cells or ink reservoirs which are imprinted into the surface of the print cylinder. In contrast to exterior printing, with gravure the ink is held contained by tiny cells engraved into or below the container surface. The deeper the cell, the dark the quality printed. By changeable the size and placement of each cell, varying amounts of ink can be deposited onto the wall covering by imperative the inked cylinder against the web. Pressure causes the ink to flow from inside each cell onto the wall covering. This process is the most flexible since it can duplicate a total range of visual effects, and is able to give an almost photographic effect.
